Job Description Summary

                Position Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive waste and water management programs that include goal setting, opportunity scoping, project execution and measurement & verification of deployed initiatives/programs.
  • Assist in strategic planning and project execution within other functional areas of sustainability, including electric vehicle charging infrastructure, carbon emission reductions and energy/sustainability management.
  • Serve as a sustainability subject matter expert (SME) on current and future technology and best practices to manage waste, water, energy, and vehicle fleet electrification.
  • Work with others to develop project ideation, validate cost savings and execute projects related to waste reduction/landfill diversion, water efficiency and carbon reduction.
  • Partner with Facilities/Real Estate to develop best operating practices for sustainable design and operation of our locations, including recycling/waste management, water efficiency, and energy/carbon management.
  • In collaboration with other team members, review, evaluate and develop plans to engage withFederal/State/Local programs related to grants, rebates, and tax incentives for sustainability-related projects.
  • Develop and execute short-term and long-term strategies to meet enterprise-wide sustainability goals in close collaboration with business unit partners. 

Requirements: Education & Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in engineering, sustainability, environmental sciences, public policy, law or communications.
  • 5+ years of experience in environmental sustainability program management, preferably in the areas of waste reduction and water management.
  • Experience performing/reviewing waste audits, diversion rate analyses, interpreting waste-related regulatory considerations, and other key waste management metrics.
  • Project execution in the areas of waste reduction, water stewardship, and carbon reduction with a successful track record of achieving business efficiencies as well as environmental benefits.
  • Familiarity with industry best practices as it relates to environmental impact reporting and accounting protocols, and associated methodologies – including Global Reporting Initiative, Science Based Targets initiative and CDP water reporting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to bend, squat, crouch and/or reach and lift up to 25 pounds or more, as required by the job.  Some Sunbelt jobs may require driving for long periods of time, loading and unloading heavy equipment, performing work in extreme weather conditions including rain, wind or excessive temperatures and/or night and weekend work.  All duties must be performed according to Sunbelt’s safety policies and guidelines.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to comply with ADA/ADAAA.

Base Pay Range: $80,326.00 - 110,447.70
