Job Description Summary
The Contracts Specialist is responsible for the pre‑award review, drafting, redlining, negotiation, and processing of customer and vendor contracts, including agreements related to IT, Marketing, Fleet, RFPs, and re‑rental arrangements. This role partners with business and technical stakeholders across the organization to support contract negotiation, documentation, and execution, ensuring agreements align with company standards and risk requirements.
Position Responsibilities:
Independently draft, review, redline, and negotiate customer and vendor contracts to ensure terms align with company standards and minimize contractual risk.
Contribute to the development and improvement of contract review and administration processes to drive consistency and efficiency.
Partner with sales, operations, and internal stakeholders to advise on contract terms, risk exposure, and compliance requirements, providing practical solutions to support the business.
Manage a high volume of customer and vendor contracts in a fast‑paced, transactional environment while meeting internal service expectations and deadlines.
Support pre‑award contract activities, including review and negotiation of agreements related to RFPs and coordination of inputs from multiple departments.
Identify contractual risks and proactively recommend strategies to mitigate exposure related to customer and vendor agreements.
Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned business units on contract‑related matters, ensuring timely communication and follow‑through.
Research contract‑related issues and provide clear, well‑reasoned recommendations for resolution.
Prepare contract‑related reports and analyses as required.
Coordinate with internal departments to obtain required reviews, approvals, and supporting information to satisfy contractual requirements.
Communicate customer and vendor contractual requirements clearly to internal stakeholders to ensure understanding and compliance.
Provide guidance and mentoring to contract team members on documentation standards, workflows, and administrative best practices, as needed.
Perform other contract‑related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Education & Experience:
At least 4 years of contract review related experience
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, transactional organization that requires quick thinking and juggling multiple items at one time
Able to advise and interact with all levels of Sunbelt’s organization
Advanced prioritization skills
Applicants must exemplify excellent analytical and risk management skills and demonstrate critical thinking, and effective communication skills
Complex understanding of contract terms and contract risk mitigation.
Proficient in Microsoft products
Knowledge of Contract Lifecycle Management systems preferred
College degree preferred
Physical Demands:
Must be able to bend, squat, crouch and/or reach and lift up to 25 pounds or more, as required by the job. Some Sunbelt jobs may require driving for long periods of time, loading and unloading heavy equipment, performing work in extreme weather conditions including rain, wind or excessive temperatures and/or night and weekend work. Base Pay Range: $74,501.00 - 102,438.60Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
