Job Description Summary

Position Responsibilities:
• Lead and execute interviews and fact‑finding discussions related to lawsuits, administrative charges, and regulatory inquiries.
• Independently manage responses to administrative agencies (including EEOC, DOL, and state agencies), ensuring accuracy, responsiveness, and legal soundness.
• Prepare responses to employment‑related subpoenas, including document identification, collection, review, and production.
• Issue and manage legal holds, including identifying custodians and monitoring compliance.
• Manage discovery processes in employment litigation, including document review, production coordination, and support of defense or prosecution strategies.
• Review and analyze documents and data; prepare detailed chronologies, summaries, and case analyses.
• Draft and review legal documents, correspondence, and submissions for internal and external use.
• Review and analyze labor and employment laws and regulations applicable to Sunbelt’s operation and publish review to internal stakeholders.
• Serve as a liaison for employment and labor matters for internal business partners and outside counsel.
• Maintain accurate tracking of employment matters, litigation, and agency actions.
• Identify process improvements and best practices to enhance legal department efficiency and risk management.
Requirements:
Education & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in paralegal studies or a related field.
• ABA‑approved paralegal certificate.
• Minimum 5–7+ years of progressively responsible paralegal experience, including independent management of complex matters with a focus on employment and labor law.
• Demonstrated experience managing investigations, agency charges, subpoenas, and discovery with minimal supervision.
• Strong working knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
• Ability to exercise discretion, sound judgment, and independent decision‑making.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and legal matter management systems.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to bend, squat, crouch and/or reach and lift up to 25 pounds or more, as required by the job. Some Sunbelt jobs may require driving for long periods of time, loading and unloading heavy equipment, performing work in extreme weather conditions including rain, wind, or excessive temperatures and/or night and weekend work. All duties must be performed according to Sunbelt’s safety policies and guidelines. Reasonable accommodations may be made to comply with ADA/ADAAA.
